Review on What I think of Shein Curve + Plus
I ran into Shein online while I was looking for some cute affordable summer dresses. I was surprised at how adorable some of their clothes were and was especially curious, because the prices seemed pretty reasonable. So I decided to order a bunch of dresses and see what the quality was like, and how their clothes would measure up on a plus size “16” woman.
So, I ordered and waited several weeks. It’s kind of funny, because it took a little while and I actually forgot what I had ordered. It kind of felt like Christmas in a way. When I opened up the packages, I was so surprised how cute all the pieces were. Below are my honest reviews. These opinions are my own.
A floral dress #1
I typically don’t wear dresses this short, but oh my gosh. I can honestly say this is one of my favorites of this haul. I have worn this dress a few times already and I have gotten so many compliments. The material is pretty good and it has elastic around the tummy area, so there is room to breathe. I also love the sleeves of this dress. Overall, I would definitely recommend this dress, and if you don’t typically wear short dresses, I’d encourage you to give it a try.
Floral Dress #2
This dress is a little bit longer than the first one, it hits right above the knees. I actually really like this dress. It is more form fitting than the first dress, you can adjust the tie in front around the bust area to tighten it, or loosen it. Another hit, in my books.
Floral Romper
This was not one of my favorite purchases, I actually didn’t like the way this fit me around the bottom and leg area. It was super short and when I walked it kept riding up. It was also just a tad loose on the top, but that is because I have a smaller bust area. I probably could have went up one size for the bottom part. Overall though, I’d say skip this one.
Long Flowy Dress
Okay, can we talk about how much I am in love with this dress? If I could wear this every single day and get away with it, I would. It is absolutely gorgeous. Let me warn you, it is super long. But, just breathtaking. The color in these pictures is true. It is more of an orange/rust color. It is super flowy and has a slit in the front, to show a little leg. It is also true to size.
I am 5’5″ and I wore some shorter sandals with this dress and it hit the floor when I walked. So you can easily pair this with some mid heels or dress it up even further with a higher heel. This is depending on what your height is. Overall, I say this dress is everything.
Long summer dress
Such an adorable dress. As you can see this dress is long. I am wearing 3 inch heels in these pictures and it is still long and hitting the floor. For me, it was a tad big in the bust area, since I have a smaller bust size. But this dress, is sooo adorable. If you are shorter, I would say pairing this dress with higher heels or getting it hemmed off the bottom. A definite recommend in my book. Absolutely adorable.
Puff Sleeve White Bodysuit Top
I love this white puff sleeved bodysuit. I paired it with this pencil skirt that I got elsewhere and it looks absolutely adorable. I own a few bodysuit tops and I swear by them. The material is super stretchy and pretty decent quality.
Straw Shein bag
Since this is the first time I have ever ordered from Shein, I wanted to order some clothes but I also wanted to try some accessories as well. So, I ordered this cute straw bag. This little bag is so cute. It is pretty good quality and has enough room for your cell phone, a small wallet, a cardholder, and a few makeup items. Overall, I think it’s really cute and glad I ordered it.
A few hats
I also wanted to order a few hats. I was getting ready to go on a camping trip with my husband and wanted a cute baseball cap and bucket hat, so I ordered these. They are so cute, and actually are pretty great quality. I love the baseball cap. It says on the back of it, “Good Vibes Only”.
Final Thoughts
So, for those of you who have never heard of Shein, or are still contemplating on buying some stuff from there, and looking for an honest review, then you are in the right place. I will always give my absolute honest opinions on here. I think Shein is a great place to try out some new clothing styles without the heavy investment.
I don’t think I will shop here all the time, but it is a great way to try out new styles for a lot less money. That being said, the quality of the clothes is “okay.” I don’t think the clothes will last for years and if you are careful, you’ll get some use out of them. But hey, if that doesn’t matter to you, then definitely try them out.
I found a lot of beautiful dresses in this haul and thought some of the choices were okay. Some of the dresses I know I will get quite a few uses from them, others like the romper, not so much. But in the end, I think it is up to you to decide on.
The prices definitely speak to the quality. Some of the higher priced items on Shein are of better quality. So keep that in mind when you are online shopping. Will I order again? Maybe, once in awhile. But definitely not all the time. Be sure to check out some of my other style ideas.
